Hello and God Bless!  I am originally a Chicago native and came out to Vegas originally to study engineering. With God's direction, I eventually found more passion for math itself, so I changed my major to math education. I graduated from UNLV with a Bachelor's in math education and a Masters in Math (teaching concentration). I have been teaching at CSN since 2004. My teaching philosophy is that ANYONE can understand math with the proper instruction and if the student puts in the proper time to study outside of class. Learning is a two-way street. The teacher has a responsibility to provide the best materials for students to learn. However the student must also take the time to learn by practicing problems until the material is understood.

Here's a couple of interesting facts about me. I have been married since 2005 to my beautiful wife, JY. We have a Maltese puppy named Snowball (pictured below). I am Christian, and attend The Crossing: A Christian Church.  I currently play hand percussion on our church's worship team ( pictured below). I play the tambourine, shakers, rainstick, chimes, thunder tube, and other hand percussion items! More cowbell! I also build things for a hobby . Some of my favorite builds are my cajon,  evaporative cooler, and a parabolic solar cooker. In addition, I ride a folding mountain bike (pictured below) for some exercise! I frequently ride the trail loop at the Mountain's Edge Regional Park and also enjoy riding on the 215 Beltway Trail, The Union Pacific Railroad Trail in Henderson, and the Summerlin Cottonwood Canyon Park Trail.

As far as religion goes, here is something crazy that happened to me while riding my bike on the UNLV campus in 1998. I had been praying that God would show me the power of prayer, and I needed assurance that he was real and that he heard me.  I felt I had to go to the reflecting pond on campus. Upon arriving to the pond,  there was a bible sitting open on a ledge!  No one else was around. I walked up to it and on that open page, there was scripture verse underlined in red - the only one underlined.  It was from Psalms 66: 18-20 which reads, "If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened; but  God has surely listened and heard my voice in prayer.  Praise be to God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld his love from me." That bible had been sitting there for several hours, and the wind could have blown those pages around, but I believe God had something special to say to me that day. God has something special to say to you too, if you let him. Have you wanted to go to church for a while but just haven't done it yet? My church, The Crossing, films every service and puts them online. If you are not ready to go to a church yet, why don't you take a first step and watch one of our past services on our website BY CLICKING HERE. I'll bet there is a message for you somewhere in that service! If you ever have any questions about this please feel free to ask me!
